Paper Tested / Paper Republic
Is the Paper Republic Grand Voyageur notebook refill (80gsm) fountain pen friendly?
Paper Republic · Grand Voyageur notebook refill (80gsm) · 80 gsm
Verdict
Mostly, with caveats. Reviewers found bleed-through rated Medium, feathering rated Medium, a middling result. Ghosting was rated Medium: some show-through on the back of the page in testing.
Reviewers differ. Pens Paper Plans (XL inserts, 80gsm white) saw no feathering or bleed-through with fountain pens, including a flex nib, and very little shadowing. Earlier reviews of the pocket refills were negative: Notebook Stories (2014) found typical show-through and bleed-through and some fountain pen feathering, and Ian Hedley (2015) found them not at all fountain pen friendly. The paper may have changed since then.
